We Be Hiking provides guided half-day, full-day
and overnight backpacking hikes. The hikes are geared towards
women of all ages seeking a wonderful wilderness experience.
Whether it is a day hike to a gorgeous waterfall or a multi-day
backpacking adventure along the Appalachian Trail you will
be challenged spiritually, mentally and physically. If you
have no experience or you want to take your hiking experience
to the next level our hikes will fill your needs.
The
hikes offered can be easy, easy to moderate, and moderate
to more difficult. They will take you through the forests
of North Georgia and Western North Carolina where you will
be filled with the beauty of waterfalls, the aroma of the
woodlands and be forever changed by the spectacular views
of elevations reaching upwards of 5,000 feet.
The
opportunities of meeting other women seeking adventure for
whatever reasons will be memories to last a lifetime. Our
hikes take you on the Appalachian Trail, the Bartram Trail
and other trails in our National Forests. We Be Hiking
also offers information to help you reach your goal of being
a section or thru-hiker on the Appalachian Trail.
All
lightweight equipment will be provided, including food. All
equipment for a multi-day hike will be kept between 20 and
25 pounds and a day hike should be between 10 and 12 pounds.
Once you have decided to take one of our hikes a list of what
you need to bring or purchase will be provided. We will also
provide information on how to buy your boots and a list of
exercises you should be working on to get prepared for your
adventure. Our aim is for you to have a great experience in
the out-of-doors.
Transportation
is provided to the Trailhead. If overnight reservations are
needed, arrangements may be made by We Be Hiking
at the hiker's expense or a list of local B&Bs and motels
may be provided..
We
Be Hiking also welcomes women and their daughters,
women and their sons, Grandmothers, and families.
